The overall movie was rather good, it began with Chris (Nicholas Cage) desiring a girl, he has yet to meet named Liz (Jessica Biel). Then continuing to show his magic act in which his two minutes window into the future gave him a little foresight to appear talented.
After a misunderstanding, he’s forced to escape a crime scene, which gives Government Official Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore) a heads up to a possible solution to a terrorist threat, after viewing the security video. As Chris’s uncanny ability of dodging security at every move and knowing what other’s are doing when it relates directly to him, is seen as a way of ending the terrorist bomb threat without any loss of life.
Though, through the first part of the movie, his desire too be with Liz and too understand why he is able to see further into the future when Liz is involved. Leaves him blindsided too the larger picture. Because when he realizes his Liz is in jeopardy, he pushes his ability further than ever. Yet, it isn’t until after he helps rescue Liz that he finds out his desire to be with Liz put everyone in jeopardy.
Fortunately, its at this time that his gift gives him another chance to correct his mistake by helping the Authorities before things escalate.
