Later on, Hound and the other Autobots trick Ravage allowing him to escape, to tell Megatron about a false location of Rocket Fuel; he in turn makes plans to attack at dawn.

However, shortly after the Decepticons attack the military base illusion, Prime and the other Autobots discover they had been deceived. Megatron explains that the real Decepticons are currently attacking a true military base, and they will soon be able to depart for Cybertron.

The Autobots race to stop the Decepticons Space cruiser before its too late. Once they arrive, another short battle takes place. Though the Decepticons manage to retreat to their Space Cruiser and take off.

Prime, not willing to let them go, uses a rocket packet in an attempt to catch-up with and stop the cruiser, unforunetly he's quickly shot-down by laser-fire. Mirage, on the other hand, having used his invisibility, sabotages the cruiser from within then jumps to safety before the cruiser crashes too Earth.

Believing the Decepticons are finished, the World Governments give the Autobots the resources needed for the journey back to Cybertron.
However, near the ocean floor, Megatron opens an outer hatch and escapes toward the surface.
