Signs

Ex-priest Graham Hess wakes up startled by the screams of his young daughter Bo. He jumps out of bed and begins looking for her; he soon follows her screams into the corn field his family owns. On the way he bumps into his younger brother Merrill played by Joaquin Phoenix, who is also trying to locate the young girl. They finally reach Bo and his son Morgan; and realize why the children had been so startled as crop circles appear to have been created over several acres of the corn field.

Afterward the initial discovery, they learn that an alien invasion is mounting. However, the aliens themselves seem mostly interesting in tormenting and teasing the Hess family and other residence. As they seem to keep to the shadows and out of sight their most of the movie, as only a few glimpses of them are seen.

It isn’t until near the end of the movie that the Hess family comes face to face with the Alien. At which time they learn that it doesn’t like water and with the use of a baseball bat they save the day.

Comment:
Overall, the movie plot was a little confusing as it seemed to drift from one direction to another. Though I had originally thought it was an action suspense movie. While it appeared to be more of a comical mystery, in which case, if you like movies that require close attention, you may enjoy this movie.
